Is ear acupuncture suppose to still hurt days later?

My first acupuncture session ended with him putting a "tack" in my ear. It felt like he pierced it. Tonight is my second night that it still hurts to the touch so i can't sleep on that side. That mean another restless and painful night. I think the guy did it wrong, but I don't know. Is it suppose to still hurt?
If it is too painful to sleep on, you should remove the tacks immediately and gently clean the area out. You might just be sensitive to the tack, you might be sensitive to the adhesive holding the tack in.

the pain is from continued inflammation in the spot treated. you are supposed to stimulate the points where the "tacks" are placed. the guy most likely did not do it wrong. he located a spot that really needed treatment.
the tack is to be removed in 3 days
