I have plantar faciitis in both heels. I really, really don't want to have surgery and am looking for alternatives. I have tried all traditional treatments and am still in pain.

I've had fibro for four years since a bad motor vehicle accident as well as being recently diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis as a result of the wreck as well. Ive done all the meds out there- including the new medication Lyrica- I was actually part of the study by the company before it came out. Ive done the guaifenesin, accupuncture, rolfing (deep tissue massage with stretching to separate the myofacia and muscles), hypnosis, herbal treatments- as well as the traditional cortosone/lidocaine trigger point injections- including the new type with botox.
Nothing works anymore- not even a little bit. few medications gave me long term relief (more than a month) I am either resistant to or highly allergic (the opiates) my mother who also has fibro and permanent fractures as well can practically dance circles around me when i cant even walk to the mailbox anymore . The worst of it is is that two days before my accident- i was running at least 7 miles a day and was in the Army. My GP, Rheumatologist, orthopod, shrink (yeah ive tried mental treatment too), physical therapist and pain mgt specialist are all out of ideas and keep the nearly worthless (and expensive) treatments up just incase- I am a member of the national fibro association and other related groups and all the answers are the same. I just turned 24 years old and i'm way beyond giving up hope. As you know with fibro comes all the other "lovely" health problems like the insomnia and GI hell-and those proble

A couple additional questions-
When is the last time you've been to a beauty salon?
What was it for? (style change, touch up, special event--wedding..etc)
What services did you get done?
Did you have to go to multiple places to get what you were looking for (example- going to tanning salon, to gym, to hair salon..etc)
What you be interested in a one stop shop salon? A place that offered traditional beauty services as well holistic healing services, accupuncture, tattoo, gym..etc

I have a problem with pain my upper back between the shoulder blades, this is usually fine during the day however after going to sleep for around 3 to 4 hours i wake with the pain, staying in bed, moving into different positions does not help, pain killers seem to do nothing only make me feel drousey. but i still cannot sleep as the pain keeps me awake, so i take myself downstairs and sit infront of the tv. the pain subsides in anything between half an hour to 2 hours, i can then go back to bed and get another 3 to 4 hours before i wake again.
I have seen a back specialist and 3 physio therapist each one has a different opinion of the problem. they have all given me exercise's or treatment with little or no success. the problem has been on going for around seven months now
I have tried traditional chinese accupuncture which has had no effect. i have tried numerous mattresses with no effect. I just moved to Newfoundland, Canada from th UK and am looking for a chiropractor in my area

Personally I'm a big fan of 'Your Dog'. Just because they have the best health and nutrition related articles, and doesn't just talk about "traditional" dog topics. Some of the more memorable articles were about over-vaccinations, raw feeding and accupuncture therapy.
So how about you? What's your favorite dog read?

4 different types of therapies used in the traditional Chinese medicial hospitals are:
1] Accupuncture
2]Cupping & Bleeding
3]Chinese Message [ Tui Na ]
4]Chinese Herbal medicine
I hope I got those answers right.
Is Moxibustion [ Jui Fa ] is another example as well? Thank you in advance!

Am going to give birth in a german hospital for the first time w/ the help of a mid wife and a doctor's present as well + just wanted to know if anyone chose those methods. I'm from the USA and had gone the traditional route of epidural and lying in a bed for my other birth experience and would just like to know what your experience was w/ water birth and accupuncture. Some ppl. have told me that the i.v. given to them w/ pain killer meds didn't do much...just how painful is it to go from having had an epidural birth to a non epidural one? Would you say 100xs more of an "ouch" factor?
thanks in advance!
