I want to get a degree in integrative/alternative medicine.
But, I don't know what to study to get the degree.
I have some idea but the college I am going to go to doesn't offer anything in this field. It's a community college called Oklahoma City Community College. The only subject I found to be associated with it is Allied Health,I want to study Botany,Naturopathy,herbology/herbalism,traditional chinese medicine, homeopathy and maybe acupuncture.
OCCC doesn't offer any courses in these subjects.
What should I do?
I have about a month to figure it out...

My first chow had arthritis. This was before the days of rymadyl, duramax & other canine medicines. I was able to keep her comfortable with acupuncture, shark cartilage, and other chinese herbs.
Now, my current dog is showing signs of arthritis again. The rymadyl isn't working as I had hoped. So, I"m going to start her on the regimen that kept my previous dog comfortable. Only problem is I can't remember the herbs prescribed. I believe alfalfa was one, but I know there were chinese herbs as well.
Anyone able to offer any suggestions until I can find a decent holistic vet?

I have been having a bad problem with my menstrual periods, I have always been irregular but only like two or three months apart..I got married march 16th 2006 and since then i have now had one period and it is january, i have been to the doctor. had everything checked out and things were perfect..I have tried acupuncture but only a couple of times due to my money situation. I have also tried female toner( strengthens and tones the uterus, and supposrts healthy menstration) and had a very extremely light period( i think) where i did not have to use anything. So then i tried vitex(chasteberry), ovulex, chinese herbs from my acupuncturist ect and nothing has worked still no period. this is driving me nuts. my husband and i are thinking about trying to have a baby but thats kind of impossible if im not menstrating...or is it? we have had very frequent unprotected sex. The date i could have had my period was october7th-14th? please let me know asap. u can email me to. thanks

I was just diagnosed with having 3 fibroids. One of which is 6cm and is causing some pain on my right side. I have known about these fibroids, but have approached the "wait and see" attitude until now. Because of the pain, and heavy bleeding each month, I am faced with a decision to make in terms of getting them taken out. I have however decided AGAINST an hysterectomy. I know of too many side effects resulting in having one. Ablation is not a choice either, as my fibroid is too big. I don't want Lupron either. I am 47 years old, and Lupron is temporary. I won't make it too menopause with this approach. I am thinking about three options. Mynectomy, Embolization, and natural alternative methods. The later is much more appealing to me, as I live a holistic lifestyle, and I'm scared to death of surgery and meds. Has anyone had any success in shrinking fibroids naturally?? I would be very much interested in reading about your experience and how you achieved results if any. Chinese medicine? Herbs? Acupuncture? I'm all for it if it keeps me off the operating table. Thanks for the advice...

In 2698 BC, Huang Di established the first martial arts because of his great knowledge of acupuncture which was created during the stone ages. I want to assure my curiosity.

Last year I did the pegatron/interferon treatment, only to find out that I am a non-responder. My diet consists of mostly organic foods, no alcohol and lots and lots of water. My symptoms are getting worse, I have fatigue, bone and joint pain and nausea most of the time. At this time I am taking pain meds to help control this problem. Does anyone know the best way to go in controlling pain? Next week I have an appointment with an acupuncturist. Has anyone with hep c benefited from Chinese medicine or acupuncture? Is there anyone out there who had geno type 1 and has been cleared of the virus? I would love to hear how you did it. Thanks.
