Can a felon with a violent offense be a registered acupuncturist in Oregon or anywhere in the U.S.A?

I'm leaving in Orange County ,CA. I'm looking for a good acupuncturist specializing in PCOS. Is there anyone having experiences with that? Please tell me. All opinions are really appreciated.

Acupuncturists must attend four years of graduate education from an accredited university (the same amount of schooling required for an MD degree), and they must pass a licensure exam that is accepted by virtually every state in the U.S. now (California and New Mexico distribute their own separate licensure exams). Obtaining the doctorate portion of the degree (an extra four years or so) is similar in hours to a residency, although this portion is also paid for in tuition. For licensed acupuncturists, that's eight years of college, national and/or state licensure exams, plus a "residency" that they pay for on their own.

I'm at a standstill and can't decide between the two. Acupuncture is what I'm most interested in, but there aren't jobs, so it is a risky field (ie. i'd have to start my own business). Physical therapy is rewarding (not as interesting to me as chinese medicine), but it pays very well and there are plenty of jobs. Has anyone else been interested in the two? Ideas? Opinions?

My dog has been bleeding from her nose for the past four months. We have taken her to the vet several times, but they cannot figure out what is wrong with her. They took a scope and looked up her nose, there is nothing there. So, I am going to go the alternative route. I live in anaheim hills, CA. If anyone knows of a good, affordable vet that does accupuncture let me know. Any info is appreciated. I hate seeing my dog in pain. She can't even get excited anymore, because she starts sneezing blood!

I was referred to a Chinese acupuncturist who doesn't speak English and has a secretary translate everything between patient and him. Is this normal?
