I have a 13 yr old daughter that has been suffering from chronic lower back pain where, aside from the uncovered acupuncture treatments, the only thing that has worked for her is ibuprofen. She began using this in liquid form when she was young, age 6 then as she got older she learned to swallow pills taking today a total of 800 mg - 1000 mg about 2 times a day for the pain that causes her days activities to end. What are the long term affects of this usage? I should mention she has a single kidney and a condition known as bicornuate uterus ( she has 2 uterus, 2 cervix, and after the surgery a single vagina) otherwise a healthy young lady.

so, i've been experiencing sciatic nerve pain on and off for 10 years. it started when i jumped off of something and landed on my feet, but then fell and landed on my right hip. the last few years it has been better because i've been getting acupuncture treatments for it and also stretching every day and doing yoga. however, sometimes it will just randomly come up, especially if i run or swim or even from sitting on the ground sometimes. it seems like it will never go away. i'm looking for some tips (it can be western medicine, natural or alternative methods, anything really) or information on surgery to fix this nagging problem. can you help? thanks in advance for all help. p.s. i been told by a doctor that my problem is originating in the piriformis (sp?) area.

Once the needle was in the skin it was turned 180 degrees to the left and applied downward pressure. For each of the seven points the same was applied. During treatment I felt a surge of uncomfortableness, needing to move to a different position to relieve it, when asked if this is all right, the doc said it is okay, once i moved a little, i felt severe pain in needle number one, so i had her pull the point out, but upon pulling it out, she turned it again 180 degrees to the left and held it in place a little bit before pulling the needle out. Does this sound like inexperience, or malpractice? Is this also normal? When the time is 15-25 minutes into it, the needles would start to vibrate, is that good or is that bad and what does that mean, ...the vibration?

I've heard Kombucha is helpful. I also know of acupuncture.
Anything else? My seizures are getting more frequent and... it kinda sucks (obviously) so I am looking for some treatments to add with my meds.

Have you ever suffered with back pain?
What treatment did you receieve?
Did you have any side effects?
Did you have acupuncture?
Was this offered on the NHS or paid for privately?
Did it work?
Did you have any side effects?
Which of the treatments you received, did you find most effective?
