I have been to acupuncture. one time, scared to death of needles it wasent the thing for me. lol but for months my doctor says live your life as normally.. However I do do that. and when I get done doing wood stacking on the porch or dishes or sleeping I ache for a week and it is like hell. How much fun is it to sleep in a recliner? It sucks or tossing and turning and saying ouch every turn you make.
I have been told PT-therapy wasent good because it can stretch out to much... Just searching for some new answers that I havent heard before. Thanks all
****NOTE-- I have been going to a workers comp doctor since 9/27/06 he just tells me that it takes time, HE tells me to live my normal life. When I live my normal life I know I am re-injuring myself again. The doctor then gives me more stupid pain meds and that is it. He will say ok lets wait another month or two and continue to live your life. How can I live my life if all I do is hurt my injury...

I'm seeing an acupuncturist right now. I've gone to 2 sessions. It's expensive and intense in the sensations that one experiences with the needles. The acu dr. is going to start me on herbs next week. Meanwhile I'm going to be starting my next IVF cycle around the second week of September... I Guess I just want to know if there has been other successful IVF experiences when mixed w/ acupuncture. This will be my second IVF cycle. The first one miscarried at 6.5 weeks.

It takes 16 half-hours treatments..then needles are inserted into the breast to transfer pulsations from electric current. it stimulates the swelling of collagen and fatty tissue to increase bust by 1 cup for up to six months to forever... can this really work???

For #2, I thought that the snake part would give it away

Hi, my mother has a sore neck and left arm. It was so bad at one time that she actually went to the hospital because she couldn't stand the pain. The hospital said that she has a ruptured disk and she needs to go to therapy. They also prescribed her several pain killers. However, therapy does not seem to work well and though the pain killers take the edge off the pain she still has constant pain. Nowadays she basically wakes up, takes the pills, goes to sleep and only wakes up again to eat and take more pills. Is there something else over the counter that she can try to relieve the pain. We've already tried ActivOn but that doesn't work too well either, and acupuncture seems to only work when we are there. After the needles are gone the pain comes back. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank You.

I injured my back 4 years ago and after trying acupuncture, physio and a chiro I saw a musculoskeletal guy who told me I'd strained te muscles from my pelvis to my lower spine on my left side. He gave me excersize instructions and certain stretches and after 6 months the strained muscles have localised to one which is inflammed and aches quite alot.
He told me today that he recommends I get a Cortisone injection into the inflammed muscle to help relieve it and take the pressure off surrounding muscles.
He told me 75% of people who have it are relieved of infammation between 3 months and indefinite. However, he did say 10-15% of those who have it done experience pain in the muscle for 2-3 weeks.
Has anyone had this procedure done by a professional or know of anyone?
Does anyone know the pros and cons of having this done?
Does it affect rehabilitation if I continue excersizing?
and how much does the needle hurt?
I'm really nervous :s

ok, my boyfriend is going to a hospital to have a prodcedure done. I don't think its acupuncture, and it's not a spine tap. But apparebtly involves needles in his back, testing what he is allergic to. anyone know anything about this? or what its called.
thanks everyone. I appreciate the input. I'm going in for Nursing, but never heard of this sort of thing.
