Acupuncture is thought to benefit the body by balancing Yin and Yang. Thousands of individuals have practised acupuncture, including physicians, acupuncturists and dentists, according to the NCAM and a report given by the Consensus Development Conference. In addition, a 2005 survey estimated that millions of adults and thousands of children used acupuncture in 2007. This number is reportedly increasing
Acupressure can effect different individuals in different ways, according to the NCCAM. Some will feel slight pain when the needle are inserted while other will be pain free and even energized. Still others may experience a sense of relaxation with treatment. Additionally, The results for weight loss are not guaranteed.
Acupuncture needles are thin and metallic. For weight gain, these needles are applied to certain pressure points on the body to improve health, promote elimination, digestion and increase metabolism. These points include the large intestines, pericardium and stomach. However, the results for weight loss are not guaranteed.
If acupuncture is performed by an inexperienced or unintelligent practitioner, the results could be negative. Improper needle placement, pooor sterile techniques and defect equipment could cause pain and soreness. In addition, the NACCAM reports complications have been reported, including punctured organs and infection. Before seeking treatment, you should try to be sure the practitioner is lisenced and credentialed.

I was just wondering what could be possibly making my stomach hurt. I haven't been sleeping all that much in the recent weeks (Maybe about an average of 6 hours a night). I have been eating less also because I'm on acupuncture for weight loss. I am consuming 1000-1200 calories a day though. And I take these pills for acupuncture that say they are a mixture of green tea and herbs and such. I realize that no one can be completely accurate, but has this happened to anyone? Any help at all?
