I’ve had back/neck/shoulder pain and muscle spasms for the last 5 years or so…what could it be?

I've been to maybe 10 different doctors, a neurologist, a chiropractor, 2 physical therapists, and massage therapists. I've had xrays, MRIs, CT scans. It's on both sides, but my right side it worse. It's around my shoulder blade, collar bone, up my neck to the base of my skull. The masseuse described my muscles as a"steel cable" they were so tight. He put all his strength into losening my knots but most of the time I couldn't even feel it. It's getting worse and now my nerves are slightly pinched because my arm and fingers tingle. I'm never pain free. I can't workout much or run because I'm too tight and uncomfortable. I'm thinking about resorting to Acupuncture! I'm running out of options and I can't live like this anymore.

I'm 21 years old and a college student, but my workload isn't too stressful.
I have tried most of those exercises and stretches, but haven't stuck with them. I know I need to! I have a memory foam. And I have had surgery on both sides of my jaw for TMJ. The doctors assumed the surgery would fix my back. I'm trying my best to stick with the stretches. I guess I shouldn't run then? :(

Groin Injury – Acupuncture = Miracle work?

About 4 weeks ago I pulled my left groin. I have not been able to run correctly or play the sport that I love (soccer) for about a month now. Now a couple days ago I met up with a friend who I haven't seen in a while. I told him my situation about my groin and he told me he had the same injury about 2 months ago. He pulled it during a soccer game (like I did) and had to stop immediately. He told me he went to an acupuncture place which had him back playing ball within a week. He said the guy performed a procedure where he gets this chop stick type thing and places it on a pressure point on his leg, my friend told me this hurt extremely bad and after he could hardly move his leg. He went back for another session 3 days later and did the same thing, much less pain was experienced he told me. 2 days after that he was playing soccer again good as new.

Now do you guys suggest I go try this out? Its only for an appointment and they don''t use the needles to fix this injury. I've been sitting around for 4 weeks, my cardio is gone, what do I got to lose?
And I'm not afraid of experiencing pain if anyone is wondering. Anything that can help my groin get fixed I'm willing to do.

Tinnitus Acupuncture Treatment Is A Cost Effective One!

Author: Ritu Raj Mishra

Acupuncture is a holistic approach to treating ailments. It has been practiced since ages as an effective treatment and has some reference in the medical treatises of the Egyptian civilization.

It helps in maintaining the flow of energy in the body. It is widely popular since it reduces pain, boosts the immune system and accelerates recuperation process by making the patient strong.

It also aids in improving blood circulation and reducing stress. It has no side effects and can be used in conjunction with a medical treatment.

Acupuncture is used to treat a lot of ailments which also happen to be the root cause of tinnitus. Hence, the tinnitus acupuncture treatment is an effective way of treating tinnitus.

Fine needles are used to pierce the pressure points in the body of a patient. They help in the release of some chemicals in the nervous or circulatory system. These chemicals bring relief from pain.

Some people are afraid of this treatment due to the use of needles. However, the needles are not meant to bring any kind of pain during the treatment. On the contrary, they are used to apply essential pressure on certain points. Most of the patients do not feel any pain at all.

The tinnitus acupuncture treatment may take a few sessions depending on the gravity of the disorder. The tinnitus acupuncture treatment has an edge over the other treatments of tinnitus because they are cost effective and show quick results. Moreover the treatment is a holistic one. This is a primarily essential feature because tinnitus also requires a well thought out approach.

Tinnitus or ringing ears ailment may surface as a result of some serious underlying diseases such as tumors. Since tumors need to be operated upon, it is imperative that the patient undergoes a complete medical examination before opting for tinnitus acupuncture treatment.

On the basis of the x-ray, CT scan etc, the doctor may be able to understand the root cause of tinnitus. It is on the basis of the report, that the patient should choose any particular treatment.

The acupuncture treatment uses the body's own naturally healing system. There is no need for any medicines as such. The endorphins and the encephalin which are released as a reaction to the pressure thrust upon them by the fine needles are natural painkillers of the body.

The traditional Chinese medicine or TCM includes acupuncture, herbal therapy and Chinese techniques for diagnosis.

It has been found that tinnitus patients recover quickly with a combined treatment of acupuncture, lifestyle alterations and herbs.

The novel acupuncture treatment links the kidneys to the ears during the treatment. This is because the hearing gets affected when the kidneys are weak.

Lungs and heart may also get treated simultaneously during the treatment because they are also known to be linked to the ears.

As in the case of other treatments, a little patience is necessary in acupuncture also. A perseverant approach helps in getting a better outcome.

Why don’t we use chopsticks instead of silverware in America?

This past weekend, I watched Kiss of the Dragon with Jet Li. In that movie, his character travels to France. The main villain made an interesting comment when they were first introduced. He said, "After all, what is our history compared to yours?" He made another statement about the dietary habits of both places. He even complimented the way they cut the meat into smaller peaces before they eat it with chopsticks. I wish they did that here. In western societies, we're all accustomed to eating with silverware. Personally, I've grown akin to using chopsticks. If I ingest a soup, then I'll use one of those Asian ladles. I think the way Asian people eat is actually healthier than the way most westerners do. How often do you encounter an Asian person who is overweight. I'm certain it's from eating fast food. After all, McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken have several chain stores in those countries now. I look at it this way. Those countries' histories are ancient compared to ours. Acupuncture, mahjong, martial arts, tai chi, yoga, and meditation work wonders. So do chakras, feng shui, ujjayi breathing. They eat small portions each day like many nutritionists here suggest. In many of those countries, bicycles are ubiquitous. They're obviously doing something right if they've maintained their cultural identities for thousand years. How can over a billion Chinese people be wrong?
That's why you cut the steak into small scraps before you ever even eat it. That's what they do at Asian restaurants. They cut it small to save you the trouble. Chopsticks are easy once you figure them out. Like I said, how can over a billion Chinese people be wrong?
Oscar: Actually firearms are originally oriental. They invented gunpowder. Marco Polo brought that back to Italy along with the noodles to make pasta. In China, they also invented fireworks, kites, coal-burning, the wheelbarrow, and the compass. That fine tea that the English make is actually from India and other places in the Far East. You'd be surprised how ingenious they were long before they were ever encountered by European settlers.

What to do when all doctors don’t know what’s wrong?

I've had a condition now for over 2 months. I won't go into details except for the fact that I have facial pains, pressure behind my eyes and ears that won't go away. Shaking/nausea(just in the head)/dizzy/disorientation at times. Eyes are red when I'm woken up in the night followed by disorientation that lasts a few painful seconds. Pains come and go..mostly on one side of the face.
Got put on a z-pack(antibiotic..been on many lately) and having chills and face feels hot.. but no fever with temp taken. Been to all the doctors .. even acupuncture.. none of them can find anything wrong when something is obviously wrong! I never realized how stupid and routine doctors are. They seem to just prescribe me drugs and send me on my way! And most of the drugs I tried made things worse. Any ideas or opinions welcome.... I'm scared out of my mind and have no idea what to do next...
Coolbeans... Your absolutely right!!!!! Problem is I have to get healthy enough to be able to start doing the healthy things
Stressed woman.. I did have a blood test done at the hospital but I'm not sure what they tested for. Not everything I don't think so that might be worth looking into tks..
Well Cowboydoctor.. As I said I've been to the Neurologist.. maybe a different one next time but I did have a tooth abscess that was taken care of so you might not be far off. The problem is all the doctors and tests done .. they don't say it's from the tooth abscess.
Barbara.. I know now that suffering is worse then pain..
Emma.. my god it might come down to that.. and on the way home I might pick up a tombstone :D
